David Warner had a terrible India tour for Australia. In both the Test and ODI series, he failed to score big. In two Tests, he scored 26 runs and in one ODI, he scored 23 runs. Now, he will be seen in action in the Indian T20 League 2023 for the Delhi franchise. However, he will lead the franchise this time around.

Now, a video has been shared by the franchise where David Warner was seen reaching Delhi. An image has gone viral where Warner was seen with the famous ‘Pushpa’ style. However, it was not the first time when the veteran Aussie batter came up with a famous Indian movie step. Fans loved it and shared their views on the social media platform.

However, Rishabh Pant will be a big miss for the franchise as he is still recovering from the injuries he sustained from the road accident. So, David Warner will look to lead the team to glory in this upcoming edition. The head coach, Ricky Ponting explained the reason behind appointing Warner as the skipper while addressing the reporters. 

He said: "He has been around the Australian team for a number of years. We wanted to pick him in the auction before our last campaign. Obviously he was the captain before and he has a whole lot of experience on the field.” 

"He got a whole lot of experience on the field. Axar Patel was the vice-captain under Rishabh Pant here and we decided to make him one of the captains of the franchise. He brings a lot of passion, a lot of skill, he brings a lot of experience and has led Hyderabad to a title. Successful Indian T20 League teams always throughout history had good, strong leaders and that's the goal at Delhi," Ponting added.
