The Pakistan Cricket Board  has decided to host the remaining matches of the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League from June 1 at the National Stadium in Karachi. The tournament was postponed on March 4 after just 14 matches, owing to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the players and the support staff.

However, as the Pakistan board is gearing up for the tournament, they have been dealt with a massive blow as many foreign players have made themselves unavailable due to their international commitments or for participating in other domestic tournaments across the globe.

This has emerged as a major concern for the franchises as the absence of the overseas players belonging from the platinum and diamond category has unsettled their team combinations. Thus, PCB has decided to conduct the replacement draft next week, virtually, with around 130 foreign players.

According to a report published in Cricket Pakistan, no England player will be available for PSL 2021 due to Vitality T20 Blast while many other players will be able to join the camps after concluding their run in the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.

In the platinum category, Martin Guptill has confirmed his availability for the entire duration of the tournament from June 1 to June 20 while Caribbean star Evin Lewis will only be available till June 16. Other than the two aforementioned players, Andre Russell and Shakib Al Hasan are also a part of platinum roaster but they will be available only after the conclusion of IPL 2021. Both the all-rounders are plying their trade for Kolkata Knight Riders.

From diamond, Usman Khawaja, James Faulkner and Morne Morkel will be available for the entire event while Adam Milne and Tamim Iqbal will only arrive in Pakistan after May 27.

Three players from the gold category including the likes of Niroshan Dickwella, Dinesh Chandimal and Keemo Paul have confirmed their availability for the entire season. New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh players belonging to the silver category will also arrive in Pakistan well in time.
