A high flying Multan Sultans will take on Lahore Qalandars in the 28th match of the PSL 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Multan Sultans have turned things around in the most dramatic way and have pulled off three consecutive wins. Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, have lost their way, having lost back to back matches against Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. A win for Lahore in their final group game will take them through to the playoffs. In case they lose, they will have to hope that Karachi Kings lose their last game.

Backed by Shan Masood’s magnificent 73 of 42 balls and a terrific effort from the bowlers, Multan Sultans dismantled Quetta Gladiators by 110 runs, the highest victory by runs in PSL history. The win gave their run rate a massive boost. They are now in a very good position but will need to win at-least one of their two remaining games. In Mohammad Rizwan, Johnson Charles, Riley Rossouw, they have plenty of quality batsmen at disposal. The bowling has been good throughout with Shahnawaz Dhani leading their bowling attack. Sohail Tanvir, Imran Khan and Blessing Muzarabani have also been brilliant. Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers in the last match and will once again hold the key for them.

Despite back to back losses, Qalandars can’t be counted out. The likes of Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Ben Dunk, James Faulkner, Shaheen Afridi, Rashid Khan are all match-winners on their day. Any given day they click together, Lahore will be unbeatable.

Pitch Report

With continuous cricket, the pitch is exhausted. It’s slow in nature and not easy for the batsmen. The spinners and bowlers who rely on variations will enjoy bowling.
