PSL 2025: Who is Karachi Kings captain?

The Karachi Kings, the 2020 Pakistan Super League winners, will play the Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on April 12 to start their campaign this season. Over the years, they have had mixed results, with some highs and some lows.

They have been successful in reaching the finals just once in the tournament’s history of nine years, which they were able to convert into a successful venture. Imad Wasim was the skipper for them who led to this prestigious glory.

Over the course of the tournament, the Kings have had several skippers and kept changing as they could not get the desired results. The likes of Shoaib Malik, Kumar Sangakkara, Imad Wasim, Babar Azam and Shan Masood have held the leading responsibilities.

Malik was the skipper for the Kings in their first season and the results were far from what they would have wanted to see, winning just two of the eight games under his captaincy. As expected, the leader was changed in the next season with the Sri Lankan legend being appointed the new captain where they did a decent job.

Imad Wasim was the next captain in the next season and he went on to lead the side in more than 50 games. They also won a trophy under him in 2020. However, the performance deteriorated and Babar Azam was then appointed for a few matches but then the team reached an all-time low under his captaincy, winning just one of the 11 games.

Before the previous year’s PSL, Shan Masood was then roped in as the leader of the pack. The results were still not as great as they would have liked but the management has shown trust in him, getting him a longer rope for another season.
