The 23-year-old was caught at the slip by Cameron Green but he wasn’t satisfied with the catch and expressed his disappointment through social media. Gill took to Twitter and shared a screenshot of Green’s catch where it can be seen that the ball has some contact with the ground. When the replays were shown on the big screen, many fans and commentators had already begun to voice their concerns about the upcoming decision. However, the third umpire gave it an out. The decision infuriated Captain Rohit, and at that moment, he also discussed it with the on-field umpire. As in some replays, it was visible that the ball was touching the ground but the umpires might have thought that the catch was already completed.Β

Gill got this game's second innings off to an excellent start. He didn't let any opportunity to score runs on bad balls pass him by. Gill, however, left the pitch after playing an inning that saw 18 runs come in on 19 balls. He also disappointed the fans by scoring just 13 runs in the first innings.
