The Orange Cap and Purple Cap are arguably the most prestigious things to win in a particular edition of the Indian T20 league. While the Orange Cap is given to the leading run-scorer of the season, the Purple Cap is won by the leading wicket-taker of the respective edition. Every year, several players fight to win them. Today, we shall be predicting probable candidates for Orange Cap and Purple Cap for the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league.

Orange Cap:

1) David Warner:

David Warner is arguably the greatest batter in the history of the league. He has scored 5449 runs at an average of 41.6 in the biggest T20 league in the world. As a matter of fact, he has already won the Orange Cap thrice. Besides, after not being retained by the Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction, the Aussie would definitely have a point to prove. Thus, one can expect him to earn a fortune in the upcoming mega auction, which is slated to take place on February 12 and 13.

2) Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli has scored the most number of runs in the history of the Indian T20 league. In fact, his tally of 973 runs in 2016 is the most by any batter in a single edition. Thus, there's no reason why he can't repeat his heroics from the ninth edition of the league, and win the Orange Cap once again. Moreover, as he's no longer the captain of the Bangalore, and doesn't have the burden of leading the side, he can play a bit more freely.

Purple Cap:

1) Jason Holder:

Jason Holder's current form is sensational, to say the least. His exploits against England in the recently concluded five-match T20I series would definitely help him fetch a big amount during the mega auction. As far as his performances in the toughest 20 are concerned, he was absolutely sensational for the Hyderabad in the 2020 and 2021 editions. Not only can he bowl in the powerplay overs, but he can be lethal at the death as well.

2) Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the best bowlers in the Indian T20 league for quite a while now. He has picked 130 wickets in 106 games at an average of 23.05. His ability to regularly pick wickets always makes him a top contender for winning the Purple Cap. Besides, as he generally bowls at the death, he has more chances of picking wickets as the opposition batters look to score of every ball during this phase of the game.
