Delhi Capitals (DC) are having a terrible IPL so far as they have lost all of their five matches. In Rishabh Pant’s absence, David Warner got the opportunity to lead the team. But, the veteran Aussie batter has failed miserably. He has scored some runs while opening for the team. But, his strike rate has been a concern.

Now, they are gearing up to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 20 April 2023 in front of the home crowd. But, ahead of this clash, they dealt a major blow as the report of 16 bats along with pads, shoes, thigh pads, and gloves getting stolen from players’ kit bags surfaced on social media. Seeing that fans shared their views.

Misery continues for DC both in and out of the field during IPL 2023

According to the reports of Indian Express, among those 16 bats, five bats belonged to teenager Yash Dhull, three belonged to captain David Warner, two to all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, three to wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt, and three to all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. Some players misplaced their shoes, gloves, and other accessories. The franchise have already filed a complaint regarding this.

While speaking to Indian Express, a source close to DC said: “All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police, and later at the airport. The investigation is on”. However, DC are still in confusion as it is the first time any franchise lost cricket equipment while in transit.

Many DC players have contacted their representatives and asked to send them a handful of bats before the next game. However, they somehow managed to continue their practice sessions on 18 April ahead of the KKR clash. In the last edition of the IPL, DC defeated KKR twice convincingly.
