Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had another disappointing season in IPL 2023 as they failed to qualify for the qualifiers. They finished in the sixth position with 14 points in 14 games. But, now as per reported by the Indian Express, RCB are set to part ways with their Director of Cricket Mike Hesson and coach Sanjay Bangar.

However, still, it is still unclear what decision they would take with current bowling coach Adam Griffith. For the last five years, Bangar and Hesson were with this franchise. But, RCB are yet to win their first IPL title despite getting qualified for the qualifiers three times in the last five editions. Hearing such reports, fans shared their views on social media.

Can a new coaching setup do wonders for RCB in IPL 2024?

Meanwhile, recently, another franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also confirmed the departure of their head coach, Andy Flower. The former Australia coach, Justin Langer got appointed as the new head coach for them. So, fans were seen urging RCB to acquire the services of coaches like Flower or Ricky Ponting. Ponting also reportedly is set to get sacked by the Delhi Capitals (DC). On the other hand, recently in an interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel, the current RR spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal opened up on RCB not retaining him in IPL 2022 mega auction.

He said: “When I put my name up for the auction, they promised me that they will go all out for me. I said okay, but then I was very angry . I think I did not speak to the coaches for 2-3 days. Even when I played my first match for RR against RCB, I did not speak to anyone.”

“Definitely, I felt very bad. My main journey started in 2014. I also felt very weird because I played for the franchise for eight years. I would also say that I got the India cap because of my performances for RCB because they gave me a chance to perform. From the very first match, Virat bhai showed trust in me. It feels bad because I had been there for eight years,” he said.
