Talking about the series, Hardik will lead the team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Notably, Rohit alongside senior players including the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul is not a part of this bilateral assignment against Kane Williamson’s New Zealand.
Stand-in captain Hardik Pandya also talked about India’s disappointing defeat against England in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Subsequently, he also felt that team should move on from this loss and concentrate on what is the task at the moment.
“There is the disappointment of the T20 World Cup, but we are professionals. We need to cope with it the way we cope with our success and move forward, look to get better and rectify the mistakes we made,” said Pandya to journalists in Wellington.
Following the conclusion of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, the Indian team will also play the three-match ODI series against the Kiwis under the captaincy of the senior Southpaw Shikhar Dhawan.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan also led team India in the three-match home ODI series against South Africa in which India won the series by a margin of 2-1.
