India managed a huge 200-run victory over West Indies in the last game of the three-match ODI series. Thus, they won the series 2-1 and among many players, Shardul Thakur had a great series. With the ball, he picked up eight wickets including a three-fer in the second game and a four-fer in the third game respectively.

Mohammad Siraj was rested from the series and hence, it was quite an inexperienced bowling unit that the Men in Blue had especially the pace bowling unit. Still, it was some commendable effort from the star all-rounder to chip in with those wickets at crucial stages. Now, after the series, he also got himself enlisted in a unique list as since the 2019 World Cup, he became the only bowler to bag 50 wickets in ODIs.

During that time period, many prime bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah were injured and hence, Thakur managed to get more chances of playing for the team. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. Speaking of the match, Shubman Gill won the Player of the Match award in the last game while Ishan Kishan won the Player of the Series award.

During the post-match presentation, skipper, Hardik Pandya also opened up on India’s seamers and said: “The ball was doing a bit. When you are chasing 350, batters will chase a few balls and they nick it and that's what happened to us. Couple of good catches by Shubman as well. Obviously West Indies woke up kind of late with that partnership and took the game to the 34th over but the game was over in the powerplay itself. This is one of the nicest grounds I have played in. A lot of things could be better when we come to West Indies last time, travelling and everything. Last time also some hiccups came. So WI board should also take a note. We don't want luxuries but some basic things are needed."
