The statement from the PCB revealed that Zimbabwe has accepted PCB’s invitation for the tri-series, and it is expected to proceed as per the schedule. The T20I series is scheduled to commence on November 17.

While the tri–series will start with the hosts locking horns with Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi on November 17, the second match will also be played at the same venue on November 19 between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

Later, the action shifts to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the remaining five games, including the grand final, will be played on November 29.

Earlier on Friday, October 18, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed its decision to pull out of the tri-series in the aftermath of Pakistan's airstrikes in the Paktika province, which took multiple lives.

"In this heartbreaking incident, three players (Kabeer, Sibghatullah, and Haroon) alongside 5 other fellow countrymen from Urgun District were martyred, and seven others were injured. The players had earlier travelled to Sharana, the capital of Paktika province, to participate in a friendly cricket match. After returning home to Urgun, they were targeted during a gathering," ACB revealed in a statement on X.
