Team India are busy playing the second match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi. After bundling out the Aussies for 263 runs on day one, India finished the first day with 21 runs without losing any wickets. But, on day two, Nathan Lyon rattled the batting line-up of team India as he picked up five wickets.

All batters were absolutely clueless against the veteran Aussie spinner. India lost their seventh wicket after scoring just 139 runs. So, fans were worried and they remembered Rishabh Pant as he has a fantastic record against Nathan Lyon in Tests. In previous Border-Gavaskar Trophies in Australia, Pant produced some top shots against Nathan Lyon.

Rishabh Pant has always enjoyed facing Nathan Lyon irrespective of any format of the game   

Currently, Rishabh Pant is recovering from the horrible accident that he suffered in December 2022. He recently shared pictures of him walking with crunches on Twitter on 10 February 2023. Pant wrote: “One step forward One step stronger One step better”. He also shared his gratitude to the Indian Cricket Board and teammates for their support and all good wishes. Rishabh Pant also thanked both Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar for ensuring his journey to the hospital safely. Speaking of this match, Nathan Lyon has taken five wickets so far in India’s first innings in 29 overs by conceding 67 runs.

In the longest format of the game, Rishabh Pant and Nathan Lyon have always enjoyed facing each other. As of now, Pant has scored 229 runs off 347 balls at an average of 45.8 and a strike rate of 66. However, Lyon has taken the wicket of Pant five times also. However, India got bundled out for 262 runs. Thus, the Aussies managed to get a lead of one run. Debutant Matthew Kuhnemann and Todd Murphy took two wickets each while Pat Cummins took one wicket for the Aussies.
