The World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle’s final will take place at the Oval from 7-11 June 2023 between Australia and India. The stage is getting ready as an enthralling battle awaits them and their fans. Now, ahead of this clash, the former RCB and South Africa batter, AB de Villiers shared his prediction.

He said that it will be tough to decide on a favourite as both teams have not played Tests in recent months. India defeated Australia in the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 at home and it was their fourth consecutive BGT success over the Aussies. But, De Villiers claimed that Team India might come out at the top. Listening to that, fans trolled him brutally on social media.

"I think India will come out on top on day five of the Test match.” - AB de Villiers

While speaking to JioCinema, De Villiers said: "Very difficult to say who are the favourites. Both teams have not been playing a lot of Test cricket of late but what I can say is that India in their last Test match at the Oval, have got a win against this very strong England team. They will be taking a bit of confidence from that."

"I think India will come out on top on day five of the Test match. I think it might go all the way. It's a good wicket to bat on but I think the Indian spinners will come into play in the latter stages of the Test match," he further added.

The former Protea batter also opened up about not having Bumrah in action for the Men in Blue. "Bumrah is a big loss for the Indian bowling attack, but I do think that Mohammed Siraj is in the form of his life. He has done well there before. He has got that extra pace. He nips it around off-stump, and I think he is the biggest asset in India's bowling attack," AB de Villiers concluded.
