Pakistan and Bangladesh locked horns in their last super-12 encounter which was also a virtual quarter-final to confirm a slot in the knockouts of the ongoing edition of the 20-20 World Cup. Bangla skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the Bangla batting lineup posted a total of 127 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, the men in green managed to cross the line in overs by losing wickets and won the match by wickets to reach the semi-finals of the 20-20 World Cup for the second consecutive time.

Almost all cricket fans were in extreme surprise after seeing the unexpected entry of Pakistan into the knockouts after falling down on the edge of being knocked out following two defeats in their first two matches against India and the minnows like Zimbabwe.

Speaking of the match, Najmul Hasan Shanto played a knock of 54 runs off 48 balls with seven boundaries on his credit. Other than him, Soumya Sarkar and Atif Hasan contributed with individual scores of 20 and 24 runs respectively. On the back of these knocks, Bangladesh somehow managed to post a total of 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the first 20 overs of the match.

While chasing the target, Pakistan got a steady start from the star opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. They both stitched a partnership of 57 runs for the first wicket. Eventually, Pakistan won the match by five wickets by chasing the target in 18.1 overs to enter the semi-finals of the eighth edition of the tournament.
