The much-awaited awaited India vs Pakistan rivalry will return during the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup in October, and Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, which also happens to be the biggest cricket stadium in the world, is reportedly set to host one of cricket's most illustrious encounters. The last time both clashed was in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 where the Men in Blue emerged victorious.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who decided to withdraw from the competition, will now travel to India to participate in the ODI World Cup. However, they anticipated playing the majority of their games in Chennai and Bengaluru for security concerns. Even the renowned Eden Gardens in Kolkata have been considered a potential location for the Men in Green. But it is reported that the Indian Cricket Board didn’t agree to their conditions.

There will also be 13 more venues apart from Ahmedabad that are shortlisted which include Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru, and Dharamshala. However, only 7 of these will host India's matches and the event is currently scheduled to start on October 5.

Talking about the Asia Cup 2023, the Indian cricket board refused to travel to Pakistan after which PCB came up with the ‘Hybrid Model’ but the majority of the participants in the Asia Cup have refused the model. The official confirmation and schedule are yet to be announced  by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC)

“Oman Cricket board chief Pankaj Khimji, one of the respected ACC executive board members, was entrusted to find a solution as most countries didn’t want a Hybrid Model. But as of now four non-India games — Pakistan vs Nepal, Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh — will be held at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore. The two India vs Pakistan games and all other Super Four Games will be held in either Pallekele or Galle,” an ACC board member was quoted as saying by India TV.
