There is some news that is coming our way regarding the resumption of the 6th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). ESPN Cricinfo has reported that the 2021 PSL edition will now resume on 2nd June 2021.  PSL was postponed indefinitely in March after a spree of Covid-19 cases in the camps of various outfits.

However, the nature of scheduling is not yet finalized. There are two options at the disposal of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The first option is for the 16 PSL  matches to be played over a period of 10 days, while the second option might see 16 PSL matches spread over a period of 13 days. It has also been reported that an entirely new bio bubble will once again be put in place to ensure that the tournament is conducted without any hitches.

Also, all the matches will be played at a single venue, the National Stadium in Karachi. The organizers scheduled the tournament in June as they did not want the PSL to clash with the schedule of the high-profile Indian Premier League (IPL). The 14th edition of the IPL will commence on 9th April 2021, with the final slated to be played on 30th May 2021.

However, the availability of England players will be in doubt for the PSL, as the English County season would still be going on in the month of June. Only 15 matches were played in the 6th edition of the PSL, before it was postponed.
