Pakistan Cricket was jolted by another coronavirus case as a player who was named in Pakistan’s tour to South Africa has been tested positive for the virus. The squad was set to collaborate on March 18 but it was mandatory for them to return Covid negative. The first round of testing was done on March 16 and the results of the concerned player came positive. However, the PCB had made it clear that the player can still join the squad if he returns negative in the second round of testing on March 18. He will then remain in isolation for the next two days before undergoing another Covid test. If the report for the second test came negative, the player will be allowed to join the squad.

Pakistan are scheduled to take on South Africa in a 3 ODIs and 4 T20Is. The matches will be played in Centurion and Johannesburg. The Pakistan squad for the series was announced recently but according to some reports, Babar Azam was not happy with the selection of players for the South Africa and Zimbabwe series. It was revealed that Babar Azam wants PCB to have his opinion in team selections. Several former cricketers have lashed out at the PCB for not considering Babar’s opinion.
