Pakistan Cricket Board comes up with separate red and white-ball Central Contracts for 2022-23

The Pakistan Cricket Board have announced the men’s central contract list on Thursday. As per reports, it will be effective from 1^st July 2022. Notably, the board has shared different contracts for both red-ball and white-ball players.

The players have been categorized into two different categories. Besides, it has also added four different names to the Emerging category. As a result of that, a total of 33 players have been selected for the contract, which is 13 more than the last year. Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam has received contracts for both white-ball and red-ball categories.

Along with him, players like Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi too have received different contracts.

Among the players who have been handed the red-ball contracts, Azhar Ali has been put under Category A, while the likes of Naseem Shah Shah and Abdullah Shafique have been given Category C contracts for the first time. Saud Shakeel has been given a Category D contract, while Abid Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shan Masood, and Yasir Shah earned Category D contracts,

As far as white-ball contracts is concerned, a total of 11 players have been shortlisted. Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan have moved one scale above to be promoted to Category A. Haris Rauf has also moved a level up to earn a Category B contract whereas Mohammad Nawaz has been kept in Category C this year again.

In a bid to develop and support the domestic cricket in the country, the PCB have also added five players in the Emerging players’ category. This takes the tally to seven. Ali Usman, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Huraira, Qasim Akram and Salman Ali Agha have all earned the spot in the Emerging Players category.

Red Ball Contracts (10):

Category A – Azhar Ali

Category B – Fawad Alam

Category C – Abdullah Shafique, Naseem Shah and Nauman Ali

Category D – Abid Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood and Yasir Shah

White Ball Contracts (11):
