On 17 March 2023, team India locked horns with Australia in Wankhede, Mumbai in the first ODI. Fans were hoping for a good start from the Men in Blue despite Rohit Sharma missing the series opener. However, all eyes were on Ravindra Jajdeja as he was also making a comeback in the white-ball format after a long time.

Ravindra Jadeja made a solid comeback in the recently concluded four-match Test series against the Aussies in India. He also won the player of the series award along with Ravichandran Ashwin. However, he managed a place in the final playing XI, and India opted for bowing after winning the toss.

During Australia’s innings, Ravindra Jadeja pulled off a stunner to dismiss Marnus Labuschangne. The incident took place during the 23rd over when Kuldeep Yadav was bowling and Labuschagne was batting. On the fourth delivery of that over, the Aussie batter went for a cut shot. The ball went in the air right of Jadeja at shot third. Then, the star India player dived and completed the catch. Seeing that, fans went crazy and lauded the star all-rounder for his effort on the field. Jadeja played his last ODI match against England on 17 July 2022. After winning the player of the series award in the BGT series, Jadeja opened up about the support from Ravichandran Ashwin that has helped him throughout the series.

“It feels good bowling with him. He is passing on information. What field to have, how to bowl to a particular batsman. I am happy with my batting in this series. I missed out on a few occasions. I will work harder and focus on my batting. He is more of everything. He has a good cricketing brain. He knows every team in the world,” Ravindra Jadeja concluded. However, Jadeja took two wickets with the ball also as the Aussies got bundled out for just 188 runs in 35.4 overs.
