In a recent piece of news, the Indian cricket Board has included the Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj in the Indian squad. They have named him in the team for the ongoing three-match T20I series against South Africa. This decision from the management came just a few hours after the confirmation of the back injury of the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
Although, this move of the management didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans and they lashed out at the Board and selectors. Fans went on to criticize the selectors for including Siraj who has the experience of only five T20Is and that too in his five years of T20I career.
Ardent cricket lovers also backed the senior pacer Mohammed Shami to be included in the squad during the current T20I series against South Africa.
Here’s how fans reacted as the selectors ignored Mohammed Shami once again

Looking at the performance of Mohammed Siraj in the T20Is, then he has below-par stats to his name. The 28-year-old has scalped only five in five matches with a very poor economy rate of 10.45. Notably, Siraj was a part of the Indian squad that played three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. He delivered quite well in the series and provided some important breakthroughs for the team.
But, ignoring Shami has once again left the Indian cricket Board on the receiving end of criticism from the cricket fans.
Now, the men in blue will lock horns in the second of the three-match ODI series against the Proteas. Both teams will play this match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on the 2nd of October. All eyes will be on the star Indian pace duo of Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh. They both stunned everyone with their outstanding performances in the first T20I of the series.
It will also be crucial to see if the new inclusion Siraj fits into the plans of the team for the next remaining two matches.
