A brand new T20 League started in Greece on May 12 and is named ‘Olympia D20’ a Greek Domestic Cricket league. 4 teams will be seen clashing against each other in the inaugural edition of the tournament. The tournament starts on May 12 and will end on May 16. The final match will be played between the top 2 teams in the points table. The 4-day long tournament is sponsored by Sky247, they have sponsored many successful tournaments earlier and there is no doubt that Olympia D20 will also emerge as a successful league.
Greece made its international debut at the 1990 European Cricketer Cup in Guernsey and have participated regularly in European Cricket Council tournaments since then. Cricket in the country is played mainly on the island of Corfu but the game is not so popular in Greece, however, a tournament like Olympia D20 will surely make the youngsters choose a career in it.
