On 16 May 2023, the stage was set to find out the champion of the inaugural season of the ‘Olympia D20’ tournament. Toyam Warriors were looking to upset USC Blasters as Blasters had a chance to get a place in the final with a win. However, both the Pacific Stars and DGTX Strikers were waiting for the result of that clash after playing all of their respective clashes before day five.

Here is the result of two matches on day five of the Olympia D20 tournament:

Match 1: Toyam Warriors vs USC Blasters

Unfortunately, the game got called off due to rain. However, it was the last clash of the round 2 of the group stage. As this match got abandoned, Toyam Warriors finished in the last position with six points in five matches. USC Blasters finished in the third position with eight points in five matches. Pacific Stars finished in the second position with 10 points in six games while DGTX Strikers top the table with 12 points in six games. Thus, the Strikers were all set to take on the Stars in the final of the inaugural season of the Olympia D20 tournament.

Match 2, FINAL: Pacific Stars vs DGTX Strikers

Before this clash, these teams met twice against each other in the tournament. Both teams registered one victory each on those occasions. So, the stage was set for an enthralling final between these sides. Pacific Stars won the toss and opted to field first. While batting first, the Strikers got bundled out for 112 runs in 20 overs. For the Stars, Zois Ntemtsias took four wickets for 21 runs in four overs. In reply, Pacific Stars chased down the target in 17.1 overs with five wickets in the bag. Stars’ Talha Muhammad won the Player of the Match award for taking three wickets for 17 runs in four overs. He even scored eight runs off 10 balls, including one four. Thus, the Stars became the champion of the inaugural season of the Olympic D20 tournament.

Highest Runs: Ali Afzal, DGTX Strikers (209 runs in six innings)

Highest wickets: Zois Ntemtsias (11 wickets in seven innings)

Most Valuable Player (MVP): 44.53 points
