Northern Warriors welcome Mohammad Azharuddin as mentor for T10 League

Former India cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is all set to contribute to Northern Warriors as a mentor in the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The tournament is set to commence on January 28 with the Warriors set to start their campaign on the same day playing the inaugural game against the defending champions Maratha Arabians.

Azharuddin led India during his playing days and was one of the best batsmen of his era. He amassed more than 6000 runs in Tests while he smashed 9378 runs in ODI cricket playing 99 and 334 matches in the two matches respectively. 

Speaking about his association with the Northern Warriors for the T10 League, Mohammad Azharuddin said that he is delighted to join the team and will be having a close look at the team’s campaign as well. “Cricket is a sport that you can’t stay away from. I am extremely proud to share that I will be mentoring the Northern Warriors squad and will keep a close watch on their strategy and planning. Good luck,” he said. The news was confirmed by Northern Warriors on their Twitter handle.

The Northern Warriors boast of the West Indies players predominantly and will be led by Nicholas Pooran who is also the team’s icon player. Other top players in the side are Wayne Parnell, Wahab Riaz, Lendl Simmons and Rovman Powell among others. With Azharuddin’s inclusion as a mentor, the team management will be hoping that the Warriors will go all the way in this T10 League season.
