Chasing 370 was never going to be easy for South Africa but at 241- 3, with a set Aiden Markram, there must have few nervous minds in the Pakistan camp. However, a collapsed saw South Africa crumble from 241-3 to 274-all out, handing Pakistan a massive win by 95 runs. Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi made full use of the second new ball and rattled the South African lower order. Hasan Ali was declared as the man of the match after a brilliant 10 wicket haul.

Opting to bat, Pakistan were in a spot of bother before Babar Azam and Faheem Ashraf’s half centuries helped them to post a fighting 272 in the first inning. Pakistan came out all guns blazing with the ball and skittled South Africa for 201, taking an invaluable 71 run lead. Pakistan were once again put under serious pressure by South Africa as the hosts were reduced to 76-5 before Mohammed Rizwan put on a stellar show and smashed a magnificent hundred to take Pakistan close to 300. Chasing 370, Aiden Markram kept South Africa in the hunt with a magnificent hundred but that wasn’t sufficient as Pakistan won the match by 95 runs, winning the series 2-0. This was Pakistan’s first Test series win over South Africa in 18 years. The win also took Pakistan to 5th spot in the ICC’s Test rankings
