In an unfortunate turn of events, Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is all set to be ruled out of the fourth Test against England, scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 23, at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Notably, Reddy suffered a serious knee injury and may not only be ruled out of the fourth Test but also miss the remainder of the Test series. According to the reports published on Cricbuzz, Reddy suffered an injury to his left knee during a mobility training session.

Interestingly, pacers Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are non-starters for the Manchester Test as Akash, who played an important role in the Birmingham Test, has been suffering from a back injury, while Arshdeep suffered a cut to his bowling hand.

On Sunday, July 20, the Indian team, led by Shubman Gill, traveled to Old Trafford to interact with the Manchester United players. However, Nitish wasn’t part of the group that travelled to the iconic football ground.

Moving into the details of Reddy's performances in the ongoing five-match Test series against England, he was benched for the first Test in Leeds, with Shardul Thakur taking up his spot. However, he was part of the Birmingham and Lord's Tests.

In Birmingham, he could score only two runs in both innings while he went wicketless with the ball, conceding 29 runs. However, at Lord's, he had put up a decent show with the ball, scalping three wickets and scoring 43 runs with the willow.

With India trailing by 1-2 in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir may have to incline towards the bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur to replace Reddy in the Manchester Test.

Also, there are reports that Jasprit Bumrah would be available for selection, with a lot of injuries already cropping up. Notably, Anshul Kamboj, the Haryana and CSK seamer, has replaced Arshdeep Singh in the squad.
