Nikhat Zareen stuns two time World Champion; moves to semi final

Carrying on his juggernaut, Indian boxer, Nikhat Zareen stunned two time World Champion, Nazym Kyzaibay of Kazakhstan to march into the semi final of the Bosphorus Boxing tournament in Istanbul. Zareen also knocked out 2019 World Champion Paltceva Ekaterina of Russia in the pre-quarterfinals.

 Unfazed by the stature of his opposition, Nikhas displayed amazing skills and cruised to a 4-1 victory. The win means that Zareen has ensured herself at least a bronze medal. Along with Zareen, 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Gaurav Solanki (57KG) also reached the semifinal after a tough battle against Aykol Mizan which he won 4-1.

Women boxers Sonia Lather (57kg), Parveen (60kg) and Jyoti (69kg), however, crashed out of the tournament after suffering losses in their respective quarterfinals.

Among men’s Boxer, Shiva Thapa (63KG) lost 1-4 to Turkey’s Hakan Dogan. Zareen will face 2019 silver medalist Busenaz Cakiroglu of Turkey in the semi final while Solanki will take on Argentina's Nirco Cuello.
