The 34-year-old also failed in the last two innings he batted during the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. This poor run of form with the bat from the modern-day great batter didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans and they took to Twitter to lash out at him.

Fans felt that the night watchman Axar Patel was way better than the proper batter Virat Kohli. It’s being said by the fans because Axar was sent as a night-watchman to save Virat Kohli’s wicket but unfortunately the latter ended up throwing his wicket almost in the ending overs of the third day.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Indian team is in a struggling position after the end of the third day’s play against Bangladesh as they have lost four wickets only on the score of 45 runs. At the time of stumps, Axar Patel alongside another night-watchman Jaydev Unadkat0 went unbeaten on the individual scores of 26 runs and 1 run respectively.

Now, the visitors need 100 more runs to win with six wickets to spare on the fourth day’s turning and tricky track at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium in Mirpur.

Earlier in the game of the third day, Litton Das and Zakir Hasan helped Bangladesh to reach a decent total of 231 runs in the second innings against KL Rahul’s men. Litton Das played a knock of 73 runs with seven boundaries to his name. Whereas, young batter Zakir Hasan played an important knock of 51  runs with five boundaries on his credit.
