'Next Kohli banne ke naam pe next Babar Rizwan ban jaunga' - Meme fest sparks on Twitter after Shubman Gill plays a maiden over in 3rd T20I against SL

Young Indian batter Shubman Gill made his T20I debut in the first of the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The 23-year-old failed to live up to the expectations in the first two matches of the series as he couldn’t touch the double-digit mark and went back to the pavilion on the individual score of 7 and 5 runs respectively.

In the series decider at Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot, Shubman Gill sojourned there on the crease for some time but he ended up playing a slow knock of 46 runs off 36 balls with two boundaries and three sixes to his name. Meanwhile, the Fazilka-based right-hander happened to play an entire maiden over off opponent pacer Kasun Rajitha in the second over of the match.

This batting intent from the youngster went a bit frustrating for a few of the Indian cricket fans. They took to Twitter and called out Gill for his poor approach in the fastest and shortest format of the game. Subsequently, the fans released their frustration with some creative and hilarious memes on Twitter.

With said that, here we’ll have a look at some funny memes that fans posted on social media after Shubman Gill’s knock against the Islanders.

Now, he would be in action during the upcoming ODI series against Dasun Shanaka & co. starting on Tuesday, the 10th of January.

The first fixture of the series will be played at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati followed by two remaining games in Eden Gardens of Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield International Stadium.
