Murali Vijay involves in a brawl with the crowd in group stage match of TNPL

Senior Indian batter Murali Vijay made it to the headlines of social media a few days back with his comeback on the field of cricket. But apart from the game, his name also flashed into the news because of some other unwanted reasons. Actually, the 38-year-old recently got involved in a tussle with the fans during a group stage match in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

The situation could have gone worse if the security men had not come into the picture. They finally took the cricketer away from the crowd to end all this.

The whole incident took place during the penultimate encounter between Madurai Panthers and Ruby Trichy Warriors. Panthers won this match by 36 runs.

Speaking about the incident, then all it happened when Vijay was there in the field as a substitute fielder near the boundary line when spectators started troubling him.

Earlier, Murali Vijay pleaded to the crowd not to chant DK's name

In the recently circulated videos on social media during the last couple of days, the crowd can be heard chanting the name of senior Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik. Basically, the crowd has done it to instigate and tease Vijay. Following that, the latter requested with folded hands to the crowd to stop that.

But the crowd didn’t stop and continued increasing the chants which didn’t go well with the veteran batter.

In a recently shared video, he is visible of going involved in a physical disturbance with a spectator followed by the crowd’s charge toward him. But immediately after analyzing the seriousness of the situation, security personnel intervened immediately and managed the crowd. They also took Vijay away from the crowd.

Notably, this whole scenario came into existence as Murali Vijay shares an unforgettable history with Dinesh Karthik off the field. Nikita Vanjara, Karthik’s ex-wife allegedly had an extramarital affair with Vijay. Later on, Nikita married the latter and separated from the 37-year-old. Later on, Karthik married renowned Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal in 2015.
