In the present Indian Premier League (IPL), Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) squared off on April 28. In Mohali, Punjab, the 38th game of the ongoing competition was played. LSG triumphed over PBKS completing the league double in front of their home crowd.

With eight points from seven games, PBKS was in sixth place going into this match. LSG, on the other hand, had eight points in seven games and was in fourth place. Regarding the match, PBKS supporters cheered when Shikhar Dhawan entered the room to make the toss. He chose to bowl first after winning the toss. However, a snapshot from the match has gone viral, showing Arshdeep Singh vanished from the non-striker's end. It was later revealed that he was standing beyond the practice pitches. Nonetheless, the picture made a good laugh for fans, who reacted plentifully.

LSG won the game by 56 runs vs PBKS in IPL 2023

Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul, the captain for LSG, walked out to bat. Rahul, however, managed just 12 runs off of nine balls. But after that, LSG batters went into devastation mode and began pounding PBKS bowlers all around the stadium. Mayers used 24 balls to score 54 runs. Marcus Stoinis scored 72 runs off 40 balls, while Ayush Badoni added 43 runs off 24. Stoinis scored five sixes and six fours. Nicholas Pooran also scored 45 runs off 19 balls, including seven fours and a six, to accompany their performance. As a result, LSG recorded the second-highest board total in IPL history. In 20 overs, they amassed 257 runs for five wickets.

Kagiso Rabada grabbed two wickets for PBKS, compared to one apiece for Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone. Shikhar Dhawan, the captain, and Prabhsimran Singh were brought to bat first to attempt to reach that enormous score. However, the pressure of the scoreboard got to the PBKS batters, and they lost three wickets for 109 runs in 11.3 overs. With seven fours and two sixes in just 33 balls, Atharva Taide scored 61 runs. Other batters then attempted to score some runs quickly, but ultimately, PBKS was bowled out for 201 runs in 19.5 overs. LSG defeated PBKS by 56 runs as a result. Naveen-ul-Haq and Yash Thakur each took three and four wickets, respectively, for LSG.
