Mohammed Kaif names two most underrated Indian cricketers of the current generation

Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif has termed Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah as two most underrated cricketers of the current generation. Kaif reckons that Shami and Bumrah don’t get as much credit for their performances as they should.

In an interaction with Sportskeeda, Kaif said that he doesn’t like the modern game, which is tilted more in the favour of the batsmen. He thinks that Bumrah and Shami should deserve a lot of more credit for their match-winning performances, over the years.

In the latest video uploaded by Sportskeeda, titled ‘SK Quick Singles’, Mohammed Kaif was asked a number of questions, which the Indian cricketer answered wisely. On being asked, ‘who is the most underrated cricketer of the current generation, Kaif said,

‘I think I don’t like the modern-day game of cricket, which is tilted more in the favour of bowlers. In the current time, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah don’t receive as much credit as they should for exhibiting match-winning performances consistently for a number of years.”

Mohammed Shami later also named David Warner as the best fielder of the current generation and Yuvraj Singh as his laziest teammate ever. In his international cricket career, Mohammad Kaif represented India in 125 one-day internationals, scoring 2735 runs at an average of 32.0. Besides, in 13 Tests, he scored 624 runs at 32.8.

Meanwhile, India are set to play a five-match T20 series against South Africa at home. Both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested for the series. The duo will leave for England tour to take part in an all-format series, slated to start on 1st July 2022. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also been rested for the T20 series.

KL Rahul will lead the Indian Cricket Team, while Rishabh Pant will assume the vice-captaincy duties. Besides, the likes of Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh have been handed their maiden call-ups. The duo will be part of the bowling unit, which comprises Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan.
