The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) will take place at the Oval, England from 7-11 June 2023 between India and Australia. So, great cricketing action awaits fans as both these cricketing superpowers will lock horns to win the prestigious Test mace. But, now ahead of the big clash, an image has gone viral from Australia.

The Indian PM, Narendra Modi was seen meeting with the Australia skipper, Pat Cummins and the former Australia skipper, Steve Waugh. Seeing that, fans went crazy and came up with some funny replies on social media. Currently, Narendra Modi has visited Australia to seek closer defence ties between the two countries.

Maximum Team India players who are a part of the WTC squad are busy in the ongoing IPL so far. But, the players whose teams have failed to qualify for the playoffs, have been reportedly reached to England. The first batch of Team India stars has reached London for WTC Final. Players like Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav will travel later on a date. On 23 May, head coach Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and supporting staff left for England from Mumbai. The last batch of Team India will travel on 30 May.

To Cricbuzz, an Indian Cricket Board’s source quoted: “There may be departures everyday till May 30. Logistics arrangements are being made for almost every day.” Meanwhile, despite having an injury setback in IPL 2023, Jaydev Unadkat travelled to England with the first batch. A senior Indian Cricket Board official, while speaking to InsideSport, said: “Yes, Jaydev is traveling with the team. He is nearing the completion of his rehab. But he is yet to be a match fit. He has begun low-intensity bowling. But we are hopeful that he will be okay by the next week or so.”  

India’s squad for WTC final: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Kishan (wk).
