Mithali Raj biopic 'Shabaash Mithu' to hit the theatres on February 4 next year

The much-awaited biopic of Indian women skipper Mithali Raj, 'Shaabash Mithu' is all set to hit the theatres on February 4 in 2022. The Taapsee Pannu starrer will depict the journey of Mithali from a small-town girl to one of the greatest batters of all time.

'Shabaash Mithu' is a coming-of-age tale of women's cricket in India as witnessed by the most successful woman cricketer. It will chronicle the highs and lows, setbacks and moments of euphoria of Raj's life, the official synopsis of the film reads.

The movie is backed by Viacom18 Studios and directed by famous director Srijit Mukherji. Mithali shared the movie’s poster and release date on social media and wrote, “Cannot express how grateful and excited I am to wake up to this amazing news! She is already the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket and the only woman to score more than 7000 ODI runs. She has also scored over 10,000 international runs in women cricket in a stellar career.
