“He is just so dominant” - Michael Clarke reveals POTM in the grand finale between IND and NZ

Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has lauded the Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his exceptional match-winning contributions in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. Notably, his comments came ahead of the grand finale between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

Speaking exclusively on the Beyond23 Podcast, Clarke has asserted that Bumrah has so many variations in his kitty, which makes him so dominant against any opposition. He went on to predict that Bumrah would emerge as the player of the match in the grand finale. 

"One thing is having so many options (variations), but most importantly, having the skills to execute under pressure. This is what makes him the best in the world. He has been a defining factor for India. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the Man of the Match in the final. He's just so dominant," Clarke was quoted on the Beyond23 podcast.

“Bumrah, he is just a freak. All three formats, he is, by a distance, the most important player in the world in all three formats. He is a match-winner. He bowls the most difficult overs. Run-saving machine, wicket-taker, execution under pressure is better than anybody in world cricket," he added.

Bumrah played a key role in the semi-final clash against England. When the opposition looked in complete control of the 254-run chase, Bumrah delivered two exceptional overs in the death, conceding only 14 runs against Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran. His spell eventually helped India to come out victorious by seven runs.

Delving into the details of Bumrah’s numbers in the ongoing tournament, he has taken 10 wickets at an economy of 6.62, averaging 15.9. His best figures of 3/15 came against South Africam in Ahmedabad.
