The World Cup 2023 is going to happen in India from 5 October to 19 September. The full schedule of the event got announced on 27 June. However, global fans went crazy when they got to know that arch-rivals India and Pakistan will lock horns with each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 15 October.

Now, reports have come out that hotel prices in Ahmedabad have reportedly shot up to INR 1 Lakh for 15 October. Seeing such reports, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. Since the announcement, the prices of various hotels on booking websites showed a sharp surge.

Pakistan have never defeated India in an ODI World Cup so far

Regarding that, the officials of Gujarat's Hotels and Restaurants Association (HRA) told PTI that most of the bookings have been done so far by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and fans living in other states. HRA-Gujarat spokesperson Abhijeet Deshmukh said: “If the hoteliers think that the demand is very high…they will try to make some revenue as they are assured that rooms will be full despite higher rates. Once the demand drops, the prices will come down”. Reports also suggested that as per the booking portals, ITC Narmada, Courtyard by Marriott, Hyatt, and Taj Skyline Ahmedabad, all five-star hotels in the city, do not have any rooms available for the match day.

Speaking of the schedule, the first match of the World Cup will be held in Ahmedabad. Even, the final will also take place at the same venue. The Men in Green will begin their campaign on 6 October while the Men in Blue will begin their campaign in Chennai. This mega clash will be the third match for both teams in the tournament. However, in the 50-over World Cup history, Pakistan are yet to defeat India. So, an enthralling battle awaits both the teams and their respective fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
