The schedule of the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup got finally announced by the Apex Council of Cricket and the Indian Cricket Board on 27 June. This mega event is all set to begin on 5 October and it will run until 19 November. All matches will be played across 10 different venues in India.

The Men in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign on 8 October against Australia in Chennai. On 15 October, they will face arch-rivals, Pakistan in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the schedule got announced in a special event where former cricketers like Virender Sehwag, and Muttiah Muralitharan were present also.

During that event, Sehwag shared his top four semi-finalists as he thought that India, Pakistan, Australia, and England will qualify for the last four spots. Seeing such a bold prediction, fans went crazy and shared their views. Some of them also claimed that India might find it tough to defeat the Aussies in Chennai and New Zealand in Dharamsala. However, the former explosive batter also shared some unheard stories from India’s 2011 World Cup-winning campaign.

He was a part of that triumph and claimed that Rohit Sharma must and his boys must look to win the World Cup for Virat Kohli. He said: “Everyone needs to win this World Cup for Virat Kohli. The kind of great player he is, a great human being also, he always helps other players".  Meanwhile, 5 November is Kohli’s birthday and on that day, India will face South Africa on 5 November at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Kohli won the 2011 ODI World Cup but failed to win in the 2015 and 2019 editions.
