Yuzvendra Chahal, IPL 2023 (Source: Twitter)
Yuzvendra Chahal, a leg-spinner for the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals and Team India, is having another outstanding season in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL). The Royals selected Chahal at the IPL 2022 mega auction after spending eight years playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In his maiden campaign with the new team, he won the Purple Cap by taking the most wickets (27), earning the award. In the IPL and for India, Chahal has played for four different captains, including MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and now Samson. Samson in the IPL was a clear decision for him, even though he found it tough to decide between the first three.
In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Samson dissed Kohli, who he had worked with for eight years at RCB, saying that the 28-year-old had given him the freedom he needed and was responsible for his improvement as a bowler during the previous six to twelve months.
Asked about his favourite captain, Chahal said, "I think maine, jitne bhi captains, teeno captains ke under khela hun, unse voh liberty mili hai as a bowler, jo ek bowler chahta hai. Chahe voh Mahi bhai ho, Virat bhaiya ho ya Rohit Bhai. Mujhe voh ek cheez mili hai (I think, all three captains whom I have played under, I have gotten that liberty that a bowler requires, whether it's Mahi bhai, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma. So yeah, that's the one thing I have gotten."

"Sanju Samson is like MS Dhoni. He's very calm and chill. The 10% growth in my bowling is due to Sanju," he added, comparing Sanju Samson and MS Dhoni. Fans have reacted promptly to these statements.
Once again this season, Chahal is among the top wicket-takers and shares the fourth rank with Mark Wood of Lucknow with 11 wickets from six games. The 26th game of the IPL 2023 took place between the two groups at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Chahal continued giving up 41 runs in his four-over period and failed to pick up a wicket, but he has established a reputation as a wicket-taking bowler.
He played a crucial role in Rajasthan's historic journey to the final last year when they became the first team since winning the inaugural IPL to reach the finals. Chahal would be looking to win the Purple Cap again and finish first this time.
Here's how fans reacted to Chahal's statements:
He played so many years under kohli but under Sanju he won purple cap and this year already in purple cap race 🔥

Virat ne hi banaya tumhe bhul gya aur aaj maar bhi khayega tu faf achhe se kutega tumhe
Wicket Keeper and Spinnner is a special relationship in cricket, they can’t communicate with fast bowlers as much, but it’s a deadly combination if WK and bowler are in sync.
