Meanwhile, in what seems to be a major blow for the hosts, the management has come up with a decision to exclude Jasprit Bumrah from the ODI squad of the men in blue. The 29-year-old isn’t a part of the Indian team before the 20-20 World Cup since he had been ruled out due to an injury in his back.

Notably, the Indian team management included him initially in the squad for the 50-overs series against Sri Lanka. The Indian Cricket Board happened to release the same notification in their official press release on the recommendations from the All-India selection committee.

"The All-India Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India's ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka," read Indian Cricket Board’s official statement.

No replacement named yet for Jasprit Bumrah

But later on, in the recent developments, the Board revoked his name from the ODI roaster of India against Sri Lanka as they want to extend the recovery time for the Ahmedabad pacer.

The concern was initially raised by the staff in the National Cricket Academy of Bengaluru that was looking after the case of Jasprit Bumrah’s recovery from the injury. The staff suggested not to hurry with things considering the big and full-fledged four-match Test series against Australia starting on the 9th of February next month.
