Three lions skipper Jos Buttler went on to clear about the availability of senior speedster Mark Wood and Dawid Malan for the clash against India. He said that both of these players might not be available for the match against Rohit Sharma’s men. Earlier, Mark Wood couldn’t continue his training on Tuesday, 8th of November as had a complaint of stiffness in his body.

On the other hand, premier batter Malan sustained a groin strain in the last super-12 clash of the English team against Sri Lanka.

Later on, Buttler also said that the 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt can make it to the playing XI in any case for the semi-final against India.

We need guys to be fit - Jos Buttler in Pre-Match press conference

“Both Malan and Wood are doubtful. But we would see how they are on match day. We trust our medical team. We need guys to be fit. Full faith in every member of our squad. Going back to the Pakistan tour we gave chance to a lot of youngsters, and they did well. Phil Salt has a fantastic mindset, especially for T20Is. He is someone who looks to perform,” said skipper Buttler ahead of the match against India.

Subsequently, Buttler also talked about the surface of Adelaide as both teams have touched down the Adelaide.

“Well, we will wait and see. Historically 165 is a par score but we would not like to have a par score. We would like to have a winning total. The wicket looks consistent for 40 overs throughout. In cricket, we all have to adjust to the conditions,” said Buttler while talking about Adelaide’s wicket.
