India and England are locking horns in the second semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. English skipper Jos Buttler has won the flip of the coin and asked the Indians to bat first at the mixed-supportive turf of Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Following two half-centuries against lower-ranked teams like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, the senior Indian opener and vice-captain has failed again to deliver up to the expectations in an all-important match for his team.
The 32-year-old could score only 5 runs off five with one boundary and fell prey to the English pacer Chris Woakes in the second over of the Indian innings. Notably, KL Rahul had a very poor run of form with the bat in the tournament before India’s last super-12 matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
Indian cricket fans are also in angst over the Karnataka batter for his failure in such an important match for India in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup. They took to Twitter for lashing out at KL following his early departure in the second semi-final of the tournament.
Here’s how fans reacted to KL Rahul’s other failure on a big day:
Sirf ipl khilaoo kl rahul ko he only performance well over there😂

KL Rahul chose the big stage to show his loyalty towards the academy...He gone to pavilion after scoring gorgeous gorgeous 5 runs off just 5 balls... Professor KL on fire🔥😍 #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/mY4utMWa2y

I call KL Rahul Fraud for a reason. He is unable to score in important matches and under the pressure. And his non performance pressurises the team ultimately.

This is why
KL Rahul is the Biggest FRAUD in world cricket.#INDvsENG
We fans demand the immediate removal of Kl Rahul from every indian squad. As fans we have suffered enough because of him opening the batting for our lovely Indian team.

How many times we have to suffer?
*Your every like means you also want kl rahul dropped.#INDvENG pic.twitter.com/QTVuRUMoup
KL Rahul is too good and a classy scorer against Zimbabwe Bangladesh and other associate teams but looks a club cricketer whenever quality bowling encounters him. #T20WorldCup

Petition to snatch Indian citizenship from KL RAHUL.

Karan Johar is a far sighted person. The man tried to bury down KL RAHUL's career a long time ago. But we didn't understand it back then. Sorry Karan Johar.

If you attach a dynamo to KL Rahul’s head when he gets out, we can generate enough electricity to light up a village.

I've never said this before on this app but will say it out loud today: KL Rahul, you're the biggest statpadder who never performs in a big match.
— Aditya (@Adityakrsaha) November 10, 2022
No wonder #CricketTwitter calls you a fraud.
Again I’m saying this biggest Achievement for KL Rahul career that people dared to compare him with Babar Azam.

Speaking of the match so far, India has lost their second wicket in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma at the time of filling this copy. Rohit has gone back to the pavilion at an individual score of 27 runs off 28 balls. At the time Surykaumar Yadav arrived, India has scored 56 runs for the loss of two wickets in 8.5 overs.
Chris Woakes and Chris Jordan have scalped one wicket each for the three lions in the second semi-final of the marquee tournament. Notably, the winner of this match will face Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the title clash for the current edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
Earlier, Pakistan outclassed Kane Williamson’s New Zealand to make a cut to the final of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
