The stage was set for both teams India and Australia in Ahmedabad for the fourth Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue came to this clash with a 2-1 lead over the Aussies. But, fans were looking for a better performance from batters as they faced troubles during the Indore Test. Batters like Virat Kohli have been failing to score big despite having several good starts to their innings.

Before this series, all fans were hoping that Virat Kohli will score centuries and continue the good form that he showed in recent months in both the white-ball formats. But, in the first three matches, he scored just 111 runs and failed to even register a single fifty. So, fans were hoping for a better show in Ahmedabad.

Virat Kohli scored his 28th Test ton against Australia in the Ahmedabad Test

The former India skipper scored his last Test century in 2019 against Bangladesh. So, fans were hoping that this match could be the one where he can break this long draught of centuries in the red-ball format. Regarding the match, Australia batted first after winning the toss and scored 480 runs in their first innings. The pitch turned out to be a flatter one than all the other matches and the Aussie batters enjoyed batting on it. Usman Khawaja scored 180 runs while Ashwin took six wickets for team India.

Then, for India, Shubman Gill scored his second Test ton on day three while Virat Kohli finished the day on 59*runs. So, fans were happy to see him scoring freely and approaching the 28th Test century of his career. On day four, India struggled for runs in the first session and Kohli went to Lunch after scoring 88* runs. But, he did not disappoint his fans this time around as Virat Kohli notched up his 28th Test ton against the Aussies. Even, it was his 75th international hundred across all three formats. He scored a Test century after a long gap of 1205 days.
