Sanju Samson

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is in the headlines since the announcement of the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2020. It is because the selectors happened to ignore him once again and extended their trust in the out-of-form southpaw Rishabh Pant. Just after the announcement of the squad, fans are not happy with the omission of Samson from the squad of the marquee tournament.

Sanju Samson who belongs to a coastal village near the international airport of Thiruvananthapuram has proved his worth for the Indian team in the last few white-ball bilateral clashes. He is also the skipper of the Rajasthan-based franchise team in the Indian T20 League. Everyone was expecting that he could make the cut to the World Cup squad, but even after the good performances, the right-hander couldn’t convince the selectors.

The cricket fans are also questioning the pattern of selection by the selectors and how they constantly ignore him despite fine outings. Other than this, fans are also unhappy about the fact that KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are getting continuous chances despite their poor performances in the last few assignments.

The media reports have also learned that local fans are planning to wear T-Shirts having Samson’s photo on it and protest against the Indian cricket board during the T20I match of the bilateral series between India and South Africa.

Other than Samson’s exclusion, Indian cricket corridors are also in shock after seeing the ignorance of selectors towards senior pacer Mohammed Shami and star speedster Deepak Chahar. They both could’ve been a very vital element for the Indian team in the eighth edition of the World Cup.
