Former India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli has bagged a rare failure in the ongoing IPL 2023. In the ongoing reverse fixture against Mumbai Indians, he got out in the first over. Trying to step down the track against his former teammate, Jason Behrendorff, Kohli could only manage to edge the ball to Ishan Kishan behind the stumps.

However, the right-hander was given not out. On the other hand, Kishan was confident about Virat edging which is why MI skipper Rohit Sharma decided to take the review. In the end, it was found out that the ball had hit the pad before landing in the mitts of Kishan. After his dismissal, the fans are saddened as they wanted Kohli to do well against the Rohit Sharma-led side.

Virat Kohli has been one of the top run-getters for RCB in IPL 2023

Meanwhile, the former RCB skipper has been one of the prolific run-getters for the Red Army in the ongoing 16th season. In 10 games, excluding the ongoing one, the Delhi player has amassed 419 runs including six fifties and averaging 46.56 and a strike rate of 135.16.

Alongside skipper Faf du Plessis, he has scored most of the runs for their team across matches. However, with the 2008 U19 World Cup back in the sheds, the likes of Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell need to take the team to a good score. At this point, the duo is batting at the crease and has put together 65 runs in 5.4 overs only. After Kohli's wicket, Anuj Rawat also got out to Behrendorff, via a poor shot. At the time of writing, the three-time finalists have gotten 82/2 in 8.1 overs. They would look to take the team way past the 200-run mark.

After all, the five-time winners, MI have managed to chase down above 200 runs twice in recent times. First, they did it against Rajasthan Royals and then against Punjab Kings in Mohali.
