Former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great Virat Kohli has once again expressed immense respect and appreciation for the legendary footballer of the current time Cristiano Ronaldo. The 34-year-old veteran Indian cricketer took to his Instagram story and dedicated an appreciation post for Cristiano on Friday, the 20th of January.

Earlier, Kohli mentioned on several occasions that he grew up watching Ronaldo and also admires his perseverance for fitness and discipline in routine. The Delhi batter himself switched to a strict fitness schedule and diet plans after 2012 and he also groomed as undoubtedly the fittest cricketer throughout the diameter of the cricketing World.

Last month, when Portugal under the captaincy of Cristiano Ronaldo was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Virat Kohli uploaded a heartfelt post for the 37-year-old senior center-forward. Notably, it was also the last appearance of Ronaldo in the prestigious football quadrennial.

Talking about the recent Instagram story of Virat Kohli, he mentioned the debut of Ronaldo for Saudi Arabia’s famous club Al Nassr. Ronaldo played against Paris Saint-Germain which included his arch-rival on the field none other than the World Cup Winner Argentine skipper Lionel Messi.

"Still doing it at the highest level at 38. The football experts sitting and criticizing him every week for attention and to be in news are conveniently quiet now that he has put in this kind of performance against one of the top clubs in Europe. And he was apparently finished,” wrote Kohli in his Instagram story including a picture of Ronaldo.

Although a section of the Indian fans took it as an opportunity to troll Virat Kohli with some funny tweets and memes on the micro-blogging site. They took to social media to post some trolling memes on the veteran of 46 ODI centuries.

Coming back to cricket, Virat Kohli will now be in action with the Indian cricket team in the second of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Both teams will play this match in Raipur today.
