Legends League Cricket: Kevin Pietersen, Brett Lee to play for World Giants

The upcoming Legends League Cricket (LLC) promises to be an exciting tournament, with former stalwarts all geared up to play in the league. In what comes as big news, the World giants squad is set to welcome Brett Lee and Kevin Pietersen.

These two players are the top draws in their squad for the tournament, which is all set to take place in Muscat. Their team also consists of the South African trio of Herschelle Gibbs, Jonty Rhodes and Morne Morkel. The team is also going to have the services of the universe boss Chris Gayle.

With Daniel Vettori and Monty Panesar, the Giants' have a strong spin attack as well. As of now, the players all set to feature in their side for the inaugural edition of the LLC are Brett Lee, Kevin Pietersen, Daniel Vettori, Daren Sammy, Jonty Rhodes, Imran Tahir, Owais Shah, Herschelle Gibbs, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Corey Anderson, Monty Panesar, Brad Haddin, Kevin O’Brien and Brendan Taylor.

Ravi Shastri, who happens to be the commissioner of this T20 tournament, was absolutely ecstatic with respect to the World Giants squad. He felt that they would be a tough side to beat in this edition. The former all-rounder also spoke about how exciting the LLC is going to be due to the presence of so many legendary cricketers.

“Truly living up to their names, World Giants will be the team to beat in the championship. It can’t get better than this. When you see top names from the World of Cricket coming together to take on the battle against Asia and India, it would be a treat for the Cricket fans," said Ravi Shastri, as quoted by News 18.

Meanwhile, the Indian Maharajas squad comprises Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, S Badrinath, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Naman Ojha, Manpreet Gony, Hemang Badani, Venugopal Rao, Munaf Patel, Sanjay Bangar, Nayan Mongia, Mohammad Kaif and Stuart Binny, the Asia Lions have Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Azhar Mahmood in their ranks.
