Here is all you need to know about the second edition of the Legends League Cricket set to kick off from September 16.

The second edition of the Legends League Cricket will kick off from September 16, 2022. The first match will be a special one between India Maharajas and World Giants. The significance of the match is to cherish 75 years of Indian independence. Post the conclusion of the special match, the matches will get underway.

It will be a completely different version with four new teams coming into the game. A truly exciting format and fans are already thrilled for the tournament to get underway. Some of the best stars and heroes will face each other in the league.

Here's all you need to know about the Legends League Cricket 2022:

What's the format?

It will be a different format with the top two playing the qualifiers. The winner of the qualifiers will march on to the finals. While the loser will play against the third placed team in the eliminator and the victorious team on that match will march on to the finals.

What will be the timing of the tournament?

All matches will supposedly begin at 7:30PM IST. However, the match between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals on September 25 will be played at 4PM IST. The qualifiers of the tournament will be played at 4PM as well.

Squads:

Manipal Tigers: Harbhajan Singh (C), Brett Lee, Muttiah Muralitharan, Phil Mustard, Mohammad Kaif, Ryan Sidebottom, Lance Klusener, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Reetinder Sodhi, Parvinder Awana, VRV Singh and Andrew Flintoff.

Bhilwara Kings: Irfan Pathan (C), Yusuf Pathan, Monty Panesar, Naman Ojha, William Porterfield, Fidel Edwards, Samit Patel, Matt Prior, Nick Compton, Sreesanth, Shane Watson, Tim Bresnan, Owais Shah, Tino Best and Sudeep Tyagi.

India capitals: Gautam Gambhir (C), Ravi Bopara, Pravin Tambe, Denesh Ramdin, Asghar Afghan, Mitchell Johnson, Liam Plunkett, Rajat Bhatia, Hamilton Masakadza, Mashrafe Mortaza, John Mooney, Prosper Utseya, Ross Taylor, Jacques Kallis, Ajantha Mendis and Pankaj Singh.

Venues: 

The league stages will be held across five venues:

Kolkata – Eden Gardens

Lucknow – Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Stadium, Ekana

New Delhi – Arun Jaitley International Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla

Cuttack – Barabati Stadium

Jodhpur – Barkatullah Khan Stadium

The qualifier will take place at Jodhpur and the venues for the Eliminator and the final are yet to be announced.
