Lanka T10 League: Eagerly awaited player auction dates for first season is out

T10 cricket, known for its widespread popularity, is set to make its debut in Sri Lanka with the much-anticipated Player Auction for the inaugural season of Lanka T10 scheduled for November 10, 2023. The dynamic T10 format has garnered a global following among cricket enthusiasts, and now, the thrilling tournament will cast its spell on the picturesque city of Colombo.

The first season is slated to run from December 12 to December 23, 2023. The organization of Lanka T10 is a collaborative effort between T Ten Sports Management, T Ten Global Sports, and Innovative Production Group. In addition to the Men's T10 tournament, plans are underway to introduce the first-ever Women's T10 competition. 

It is also running concurrently with Lanka T10, featuring some of the world's top female players. The tournament will comprise six men's teams, each named after iconic Sri Lankan cities with a rich cricketing heritage. The auction for this historic event is scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2023.

“I am extremely confident that this tournament will become a success story and help Sri Lanka Cricket keep abreast with the evolving trends of the game,” said Mr. Shammi Silva, President, Sri Lanka Cricket.

The tournament will comprise six men's teams and four women's teams, spanning regional cricket hubs, and each team will consist of 16 players, including six foreign players. TTen Sports Management, in collaboration with TTen Global Sports and Innovative Production Group FZE (IPG), serves as the Lead Event Rights Partner for the event. The matches will take place in several of Sri Lanka's premier international cricket venues and will be played under floodlights.

“We are thrilled to bring the exciting brand of T10 cricket to Sri Lanka, and we thank SLC for their support. This league is much more significant as it is licensed by a popular full member like SLC”, said Mr. Shaji ul Mulk, Chairman of TTen Global Sports, representing the Event Rights Partner.
