Lalit Modi’s appearance on former Australia captain Michael Clarke’s podcast has ruffled quite a few feathers. The biggest exposé Modi made was that he made the video of one of the most controversial moments public. It took 17 years for the video of Harbhajan Singh slapping Sreesanth during a match in the IPL 2008 to see the light of day, all thanks to Lalit Modi.

Lalit claimed to have promised a Porsche to the Indian ICC World T20 2007 team if they struck six sixes in an over during the competition. Lalit was a highly powerful figure in Indian cricket even before the IPL began in 2008. Lalit Modi gave Yuvraj Singh a Porsche, and Singh went on to accomplish the feat.

Lalit Modi was heavily involved with Indian cricket's inner circle. Speaking with former Australia captain Michael Clarke, he disclosed the significant pledge given to the Indian side in the event that a batter hit six sixes in a single over.

"Before the 2007 T20 World Cup, I told everyone that whoever would hit six sixes or take six wickets in an over would receive a Porsche," Modi said in a chat with Clarke on the Beyond23 Podcast.

The T20 World Cup in 2007 was the first-ever World Cup of the 20-over format. And India won the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final in Jo’burg.

“Give me your bat” - Lalit Modi reveals his deal with Yuvraj Singh after his six sixes

It was Yuvraj Singh who became the first batter in T20I history to hit six sixes in an over. He achieved the feat against England in a do-or-die match in Cape Town. Singh hammered a young Stuart Broad for six sixes in the 19th over of the Indian innings, and in the process reached his fifty in just 12 balls, a world record that still stands in full-member T20I records.

Lalit Modi revealed that Yuvraj came running to him after achieving the feat and asked for the Porsche promise to be fulfilled.

"Yuvraj looks at me on the boundary... he raises the bat and he comes running to me, 'I want my Porsche.' I said, 'Give me the bat'," Modi said.

Yuvraj also smacked 70 runs in 30 balls in the semi-final against Australia to pave India’s way to the final.
