After recordings of her and her cricketer-husband KL Rahul's purported visit to a London strip club appeared online, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty clarified the situation. KL Rahul is now on vacation in England after recovering from surgery for an injury he suffered during an IPL 2023 game.

Athiya pleaded with people not to take things out of context on her Instagram story. She wrote, “I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it’s important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I, and our friends went out to a regular place, as one does. Stop taking things out of context and check your facts before reporting. Peace and love.”

Netizens criticised KL Rahul and Athiya after a video from a London strip club went viral online and showed a man who looked like the cricketer. Evidently, Athiya was there at the club with him as well. However, after Athiya clarified, fans rallied to her and Rahul's cause.

A supporter wrote, “One of them has to speak up yrrr, the way Athiya did, these losers aren’t stopping any time soon but the positive thing is many people are speaking on this so it’s a relief.” Another added, “Athiya feeling the need to justify her and her husband going out like normal human beings is horrible, being a known personality is so tiring.”

Athiya Shetty, Suniel Shetty's daughter, and KL Rahul got married in January 2023 after courting for three years. At the farmhouse in Khandala owned by Athiya's actor father Suniel Shetty, the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony. Following the wedding, the couple uploaded lovely photos of their wedding ceremony to their Instagram accounts.

The images' captions read, “‘In your light, I learn how to love…’ ♥️ Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness. 🙏🏽.”
