‘Kya hi obsession hai kl rahul k saath’ – Fans disappointed as Indian Cricket Board appoints KL Rahul as the skipper in the third ODI against Bangladesh

The 30-year-old is set to lead the men in blue in the absence Rohit Sharma as the latter has been ruled out of the last ODI against Bangladesh.

In a disappointing piece of news for the Indian team, skipper Rohit Sharma will not be a part of the final ODI against Bangladesh. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul is set to lead the team in the third and last ODI of the series against the hosts. The men in blue will play this Match against Litton Das & co. in Chattogram on Saturday, the 10th of December.

Indian Cricket Board came up with this update in a line of announcements regarding the probable changes in the Indian team for the third ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh.

Speaking of the hitman’s injury, he ended up dislocating his left thumb while attempting a catch of Anamul Haque in the slip during the first innings of the last match against the hosts.

Now coming back to KL Rahul and his captaincy, the 30-year-old had led the team to a 3-0 series win against Zimbabwe earlier this year. But the senior Karnataka batter is not in the good books of the Indian cricket fans for the last couple of weeks due to his poor run of form with the bat and poor captaincy tactics in the second ODI when Rohit Sharma was not there.

The fans took to Twitter lashing out at the Indian Cricket Board to overlook senior players like Shikhar Dhawan and appointing KL Rahul as the skipper of the men in blue for the next ODI against Bangladesh.

Here’s how fans reacted:

In a line of changes in the squad for the third ODI, the management has included the wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the side. The Board released an official statement on Friday, the 9th of December.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Kuldeep Yadav to India’s squad for the third and final ODI,” reads the statement from the Indian Cricket Board.

“Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen complained of stiffness in his back after the first ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him and advised him to rest from the 2nd ODI,” it adds further.
